First aid training

Hands-on first aid courses for workplaces, event organisers and communities – taught by working ambulance crew.

First aid is not a theory subject: what decides the outcome is the first few minutes, before the ambulance arrives. So on our courses everyone practises — nobody just sits through a lecture. The instructors are EMTs, paramedics and doctors who do this same work at events and on patient transports, so the examples do not come out of a textbook.

What we teach

  • Sizing up a scene, calling for help, meeting the ambulance
  • CPR on adults, children and infants
  • Using an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • The unconscious patient, choking, airway obstruction
  • Bleeding control, wounds, fractures, burns
  • Sudden illness: chest pain, stroke, seizure, diabetic emergencies
  • Heat and cold injury — the most common case at an event

How a course runs

We teach at your site, in the surroundings the group actually works in: a meeting room, a plant changing room, or the event site itself. A group is 8–16 people; above that we bring a second instructor so that everyone gets time on the manikin and the AED trainer.

The length follows the goal, from a few hours of basics to a multi-day workplace first aider course. We agree the content in advance — the typical injury in a machine shop is not the typical injury in an office or at a festival.

Who it is for

Employers who have to designate first aiders and keep them current; event organisers whose own team reaches a case first; and any community responsible for people — a school, a sports club, a church or a charity.

Training pairs well with the cover we provide at events: if the organiser’s team knows what to do in the first minutes, the foot patrol or the mobile patrol arrives to a better prepared scene. Where a permanent treatment point is needed too, running a first-aid post is the next step.

Asking for a quote

Send us the number of people, the venue, and what they will use the knowledge for. We will propose the content and the length, and put it in a written quote.

Ask for a quote for your event

Send us the date, the venue and the expected headcount – we will reply with a quote and a recommendation on the level of cover.
